Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania have [designed](https://endpts.com/penn-team-adapts-car-t-tech-reengineering-mouse-cells-to-treat-cardiac-fibrosis/) CAR-T cells that help repair damaged heart muscle. Previously, chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-T cell therapies have been developed as cancer treatments. This breakthrough shows that other applications for the technology are possible.
