A new study developed by GS1 Healthcare US in collaboration with wholesalers Amerisource Bergen and McKesson Pharmaceutical explored the degree to which pharmaceutical barcodes scanned in their facilities met the requirements established by the 2013 Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA) for serialization. The study found that 74.3% of nearly 18,000 barcodes were fully compliant, a 54% improvement over an analogous study from 2018. At Yourway, we fully perceive the benefits of serialization, and anticipate more progress in this area over the coming year.
