Pfizer has announced that clinical trials demonstrate that their COVID-19 vaccine candidate is 95% effective and causes no serious adverse side effects. AstraZeneca has released phase II clinical trial data from its COVID-19 vaccine. This data indicates that a similar immune response is generated in all participants, including those both under and over 70 years of age. The vaccine, known as AZD1222, was administered to 200 people aged 70 years or older, though the study excluded individuals with substantial comorbidities or clinical frailty.
